Four deserving Buffalo High School students were named Pizza Hut Student Merit Winners last week. The students were nominated by their teachers based on ability, progression, overachieving, or just deserving of recognition. Funeral services for Jeffory Wayne Duck, 50, of Oakwood were held at 2 pm Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Calvary Christian Center, Hwy 79 south between Oakwood and Buffalo, with David Braun, James Haynes, and Jack Smith officiating. Burial was in the Duck/Gore Family Cemetery on County Road 238. Arrangements were under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.  More...

On February 24th the Lady Bison varsity and junior varsity track team went and competed in the Centerville track meet. The young ladies represented Buffalo high school extremely well. As a team they brought home third place with 68 total points, behind Elkhart who won the meet and Franklin placing second.  More...
Most crops recover from freeze damage, but moisture remains short
COLLEGE STATION — The state’s weather did a one-eighty in the last week, going from abnormally cold to unseasonably warm, noted Texas AgriLife Extension Service personnel.  However, the reversal was a mixed blessing.
