A local teen lost her life and another was seriously injured as passengers in a twovehicle accident near Teague early Thursday evening, January 27. According to the DPS report, Leah Baylor Sartor (18) of Buffalo was killed in a collision at the intersection of Freestone County Roads 930 and 971, approximately 8.5 miles northwest of Teague.  More...

The Leon County 4-H Archery team attended the 2nd Annual Ellis County 4-H Open Invitational Archery Tournament in Waxahache Saturday. Six members of the Leon County team competed against archers from ten other Texas counties, including Freestone and Robertson. This was an indoor shoot with a total of 60 arrows per archer being shot for a total possible score of 600.  More...
