Opening eyes to opportunity at College and Career Fair
      The Texas Agrilife Extension Service in Leon County's fourth annual College and Career Fair was held at the Jewett Civic Center, Monday, October 4, 2010. College and Career representatives were available from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Almost 50 College and career representatives’ from across the country were on hand to meet with Leon County secondary students.

Early voting began October 18
     By Sherry Matney Early voting for the 2010 Election begins on October 18 and goes through October 29, 2010. Voting hours are from 8:00 to 5:00 each day except the last two days which are 7:00 to 7:00. Early ballots may be cast on the 2nd floor of the Leon County Annex II building in the Election Administrator’s office.

Pizza and ice cream rewards top Junior High scholars
      Buffalo Junior High School's top scholars celebrated the first six weeks with pizza and/or ice cream parties during the lunch hour on Friday, October 15. The treats were the rewards for making the All A (pizza AND ice cream sundaes) or A-B Honor Roll (ice cream).   Congratulations to the honor students in the first six weeks! ALL A -

Our veterans need your help
      I’m sure that many have read about the new van that the VA will be furnishing Leon County to be used to transport our veterans to the VA Clinic and the VA hospitals but we also need drivers. The van is due to be delivered next month but it will do no good if we don’t have drivers available.

Buffalo Police Report
      Officer Haynie to Pecan Street for minor crash. Upon arrival, officer spoke with Complainant who claimed that the neighbor’s son had backed into his vehicle. Offi- cer noted damage to vehicle. After making contact, the neighbor advised that he did not believe his son had damaged the vehicle but offered his insurance info.
