In their second district contest of the young season, the Lady Bison travelled to Teague and managed a sweep over the Lady Lions. -- VARSITY ACTION --

BHS and THS battled point-for-point for much of Game One, tied up to 14-14. The Lady Tigers gave up several points on service errors and that became a factor in the outcome as Buffalo won 25-17.

Game Two started off with the Lady Bison digging themselves quite a hole with errors and bad breaks. They trailed 0-5 before pulling things together and chipping away at the deficit, and finally tied the game at 10-10 on a kill shot by Emily Grissett. From there, the score was knotted every other point, but the Lady Bison held on for a 25-23 win.

Buffalo led for much of Game Three and by as much as six points, but they let the Lady Lions claw their way back to within one, 14-15. Kelsey Canady took charge late in the game and Buffalo finished strong, winning 25-19 on Alex Jenkin’s final dink, to clinch the match.

The JV Lady Bison led throughout Game One, though the Lady Lions never allowed them more than a four-point comfort margin. Playing with hustle and teamwork, Buffalo won the game 25-22.

In Game Two, Teague stepped up their game while the Lady Bison committed numerous errors and suffered from bad breaks. THS won 25-11 to force Game Three.

In the third game, Teague jumped out to an early lead but the Lady Bison fought back to tie the score at 12-12. Shelby Reeder sparked her team to a strong finish and BHS won the game 25-19. -- FRESHMEN --

The youngest Lady Bison had a battle on their hands in Game One. With Hannah Laningham serving, BHS took a big 7-1 early lead, but the Teague girls dug in their heels and refused to concede the game. Down by four at game point, 24-20, THS took the next four points to tie the game. With Katie Glick at the serving line, the Lady Bison finally finished them off, 27-25.

Van Game Two was a different story, with BHS controlling the court throughout the contest. Laningham again started things off with an eight-point run, Hailey Laningham followed that with a six-point spree. Buffalo won the game 25-10.

BHS vs EUSTACE

The Lady Bison were not so happy with their performance Friday afternoon when they hosted the Eustace Lady Bulldogs in another district contest. Kelsey Canady was out with an injury, which mandated changes in the BHS lineup. Hannah Laningham was pulled back up from the Freshman squad, but had no opportunity to practice with the team before game time.

Eustace took the early lead in Game One but the Lady Bison fought back to tie the score at 13-13. The teams battled for each point thereafter, but a close call went against BHS late in the game and killed another Buffalo rally. Eustace took the win, 25-23. In Games Two and Three, Buffalo’s girls were definitely off their cheap points. EHS won 25-11 and 25-14 to clinch the match.

Read, Lott, Ballard and Jenkins logged an ace apiece, and Jenkins led the team in kills with 4, followed by Lott (3), Atkinson (3), Laningham (3), Read (2) and McGill (1). Ad- ams led in assists (8).

This week the Lady Bison face the always-tough Lady Cougars of Leon in a district game at LHS on September 21, beginning with the 9th grade contest at 5:00, followed by JV and then Varsity.
