Leon Lady Cougars roll on with two wins

Sherry The Cougars upped their record to 23-2 picking up victories against Crawford and Huntsville. The Cougars traveled to Crawford on August 31st and swept 3 games 25-18, 25-16, and 25-15. The Cougars led in all three games and had a well balanced attack.

Stats for the Cougars against Crawford: Chelby Stanford 1 kill, 34 assists, 7 digs, 2 blocks; Allison Carrigan 10 kills, 9 digs, 2 blocks; Kori Charlton 11 kills, 14 digs, 1 block; Amy Holt 7 kills, 27 digs; Avery Robinson 8 kills, 4 digs, 4 blocks; Kayla Varvel 1 kill, 1 assist, 2 digs, 1 block, 4 aces; Sharon Coulter 35 digs; Shea McCune 4 digs

The Cougars traveled to Huntsville on September 3rd and took 3 games from the Lady Hornets 25-9, 26-24, and 25-14. The first and third games were not close but the second match was a nail-biter as the Cougars won 26-24.

JV Lady Cougars shine at C’ville Tourney

The JV lady Cougars travelled to Centerville for a tournament

on September 2nd and September 4th and had a good PRICES

showing as they finished runner-up to Mexia for the championship.

The Lady Cougars emphasizes defense and don’t make mistakes and beat themselves. The opposition earns every point. The Cougars have a well balanced attack and the opposition cannot key on any one player.

The Cougars host Madisonville on September 7th and travel to Teague to open district play on September 10th.
