JV men dominate Red Oak Life
Taylor McGill heads for the endzone on a 44-yard touchdown run in the JV contest.
The Junior Varsity opened up on Thursday afternoon, hosting the Red Oak Life Mustangs. Buffalo jumped out to a big lead early, with Calvin Young scoring twice on carries of 30+ yards each. Taylor McGill scored a first half TD and carried for three PAT conversions. Just before halftime Cain Hayes took the ball at the 20 and ran it in for the Bison's 5th score.
In the second half the Mustangs broke a man free, but defender J.D. Baxter showed some impressive speed and was able to chase him down short of the goal line. Red Oak Life still managed to reach the end zone, cutting the Bison advantage to 32-6.
BHS was soon threatening again, after a big gain by #22. McGill then broke upfield and galloped for 44 yards to score. Dakota Lewis carried on the PAT to put BHS up, 40-6.
Late in the game, Young knocked down a ROL pass and Jose Lechuga recovered a Mustang fumble. Blake Strack took the last few handoffs for the Bison and scored the final BHS touchdown. The 2-pointer made it a 48-6 ballgame.
THIS WEEK the subvarsity teams travel to Cayuga. The junior high Bison’s season openers begin at 5:00 and the JV/Freshmen kickoff at 7:30.
