WGA Results

The WGA 18-Hole Ladies Game of the Day on- September 2 was "O-N-E-S (+ 1/2 handicap)". 12 ladies participated

First place went to Nancy Keown with 33.5; 2nd went to Helen Prejean with 35; 3rd place went to Shirley Schiamara with 36; 4th went to Debbie Miller with 37; Marcia Waller also had a 37 but was beat on the scorecard playoff and she takes 5th place. Low Putts for the day was Nancy Keown with only 25 putts. Nancy Keown also got the only Birdie of the day and she had a chip-in on #5 and #11. Georgia Gibson got a chip-in on #9; Marcia Waller had one on #7; Faye Weller had one on #4. Closest to the Pin winners: Shirley Schiamara on #3 and Helen Prejean on #7 and #10.

The WGA 9-Hole Ladies ‘Game of the Day’ was "Gross".

Anna Ribsby won 1st place and Paula Chicken won 2nd. Low Putts - Anna Ribsby 1st place and Paula Chicken 2nd place.

Next week the 18-Hole Ladies will play "2 Best Ball of 3" and 9-Hole Ladies will be playing "Guess Your Score". Please sign up by Wednesday at Noon.

Men’s results

The men played “One Best Ball of 4 Man Teams” with the following net scores. First Place Team (score of 54) R.D. Kizer, Butch Davenport, Wallace Holland, Billy Owen. Second Place (54) - Bobby Tibbits, Terry Hinton, J.L. Howard, George Ransone. Third Place (56) - Larry Pennington, Jeff Jones, Tom Young, Charles Herrin. Fourth Place (56) - Randy Schiamara, Mike Savell, Ben Murphy, Richard Ellis

Closest to Pin on Par 3 winners were: Billy Owen (3); Jack Stork (7); David Ball (10); Dennis Pruitt (15).

MGA 2010 Championship Tournament Information

The MGA 2010 Championship Tournament will be held October 1, 2, 3, (Friday- Sunday). The format will be stroke play with three-day total. In order to play, the member must have his dues up to date, and current posted handicap, (minimum of five posted scores by September 29.) There will be no entry fee as that is covered in the membership dues. There will be one scratch flight and three handicap flights (depending on number of entries). Awards will be a $250 gift certificate to each flight, four places each flight. The sign-up deadline is September 28 and the sign-up sheet is located in the men's locker room.

Results of MGA Member/ Guest Tournament

The Hilltop Lakes Men's Golf Association hosted the 2nd Annual Member/Guest Golf Tournament on August 28-29. Sixty men and women, thirty teams, competed and enjoyed a delicious prime rib and chicken Mardis Gras dinner Saturday night.

Teams were composed of two partners. The first day format was a combined team total of both player’s scores and the following day's format was a Two-Man Scramble. The two scores were combined for the net total.

Winning First Place honors were Terry Parisher and Ken Parisher with a combined score of 195.25. They were followed by: Second place - Joe Oden and Trey Oden (199.85); Third place - Emmit Herod and Freddie Rodriquez (202.7); Fourth place - Don Weldon and Billy Weldon (203.35); Fifth place - Randy Schiamara and Shirley Schiamara (203.85); Sixth Place - Mark Falconer and Brian Borg (208.55).

Saturday's winners for Closest to the Hole on Par 3's were; #3 Lois Brixey, #7 Chad Saxton, #10 Bill Fathke, and #15 Freddie Rodriquez.

Sunday's winners for Closest to the Hole on Par 3's were; #3 Rick Kiely, #7 D.D. Williamson, #10 Dennis Pruitt, and #15 Don Weldon.

"Thank you" to Richard Vasquez and his exceptional staff at the Overlook Restaurant for the great meal and service. Also thanks to Leah Pruitt, Ann Falconer, Judi Kizer, Lin Edwards, Linda White and R.D. Kizer for all the help before, during and after each day’s play. Their help was priceless.
