CHS Lady Tigers split two games this week

The Tigers lost in 4 games. The Tigers played host to Teague on Friday September 3rd and swept Teague 25-5, 25-19, and 25-19.

In Game One, the Tigers jumped to a 5-1 advantage and increased that to a commanding 14-2 margin before winning 25-5.

The second contest was much closer and the Tigers led 21-18 before going on a 4-1 spurt to close out 25-19. The final game was similar to the second as the Tigers only led 19-17 before going on a 6-2 run to close out Teague 25- 19. The Tigers had a couple of injured players return to the line up that helped their cause against Teague.

The Junior Varsity and Freshman teams hosted a tournament on September 2nd and 4th. The JV defeated Mildred on September 2nd 20-25, 25-7, and 25- 20. The Tigers lost the first game but came back and won the next two to win the contest. Ashlee Smith led the Tigers as she served well and had several kills. Later in the day the Tigers played Mexia. The Tigers lost the first game 19- 25 but rallied and won the next two 25-7 and 25-20. The Tigers played Mexia in the semi-finals but lost in 3 games.

Paul’s Photo The JV took on Groveton and won the first two games by identical scores of 25-18. Fallon Parnell scored several points by carefully placing shots at an unguarded place on the court. Parnell would see the defender jump to block a shot and deftly dink it over the net to the vacated spot for a point. Abby Malkey had a good game serving and had several kills from the outside position.

The Tigers travel to Trinity on September 7th for their first district game and then host North Zulch on September 10th.
