The Buffalo High football team headed to South Oak Cliff on Friday to take on Red Oak Life. This is the charter school's first year to play a 2A Varsity football schedule and the senior-loaded Bison stampeded through the Mustangs, scoring often and denying the ROL offense the endzone. More ... It was a tight match from beginning to end between the BHS Lady Bison and the OHS Lady Panthers in Oakwood on Tuesday night. After taking three of the four sets, the BHS girls took home the win. More ... The Junior Varsity opened up on Thursday afternoon, hosting the Red Oak Life Mustangs. Buffalo jumped out to a big lead early, with Calvin Young scoring twice on carries of 30+ yards each. Taylor McGill scored a first half TD and carried for three PAT conversions. Just before halftime Cain Hayes took the ball at the 20 and ran it in for the Bison's 5th score. More ... The BHS Freshman hosted Franklin youngsters in the second contest on Thursday. Quarterback Logan Jones set the tone early, taking the opening kickoff 85 yards for a Bison touchdown. Brendan Smith carried on the 2-point conversion to put BHS up 8-0. Buffalo fumbled away their next possession. Back on defense, Smith stripped the ball to kill a Franklin drive. More ... The Oakwood Panther Pride has a lot to be proud of after their second win of the 2010-2011 football season. In this first home game, played in honor of the late Coach Steve Davis, the Panthers took on the Fruitvale Bobcats and sent them home with their “bobbed tails” between their legs. More ... At the NCA Cheerleading and Dance Camp held at the new Cowboys Stadium this summer, Oakwood High School Head Cheerleader, Sophomore Whitney Hicks was chosen as an All American Cheerleader. Hicks was invited to represent Oakwood at the Capital One Bowl on January 1, 2011 and participate in the half-time show. More ... The Tigers played host to Teague on September 3 and came up on the short end of a 42-21 score. The Tigers received the opening kickoff and were in business on their own 35-yard-line. Jonathan Cloud picked up 25 yards on a 2nd-and 9-down to the Lion 37-yard-line. Ryan Payne slashed for 15 yards, but on 4th-and-3 the Tigers were stopped and the Lions took over on their own 14. The Lady Tigers traveled to Bryan to tangle with a strong Rudder team. The Tigers lost in 4 games. The Tigers played host to Teague on Friday September 3rd and swept Teague 25-5, 25-19, and 25-19. In Game One, the Tigers jumped to a 5-1 advantage and increased that to a commanding 14-2 margin before winning 25-5. More ... The Cougars upped their record to 23-2 picking up victories against Crawford and Huntsville. The Cougars traveled to Crawford on August 31st and swept 3 games 25-18, 25-16, and 25-15.
