Open house at the Buffalo Junior High Upper Building (grades 6 thru 8) will be Monday, September 13 from 6:00 until 7:30. Parents will briefly visit each classroom, following their child’s daily schedule. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

The Anderson County AgriLIFE Extension Service & The East Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association are combining to offer the third program of the 2010 quarterly Farm & Ranch Management program series, September 14, 2010 at 5:30 pm at Engledow’s Auction Barn on Highway 84 east of Palestine. The series is designed to help all landowners, large & small, with their management & business needs and earn 1.5 hours of CEU credits for each class. The Vietnam Veterans Of America will meet for their regular scheduled monthly meeting, September 14th 2010 at the Disabled American Veterans Hall located at 927 Gardner Drive Palestine, TX. That location is just outside loop 256 1/2 mile going toward Tyler. Associate members meet at 6 pm, our regular members meet at 7 pm. Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is scheduled for September 27th at Harriman Park. We are going to have a clown on September 20th who will appear at several different places. Her name is Skeeter and her schedule is as follows: 8:30am - Little Bison Academy 11:30am - School Cafeteria - 6th thru 8th grade, 145 Bison Trail 12:00 or immediately following previous visit, 4th thru 5th grade, 335 Bison Trail Brookshire’s - no time set, she will appear whenever it is convenient for her.

All Leon County 4-H members must attend a community club meeting or registration night to enroll in 4-H by October 31, 2010 to be an active member and participate in 4-H activities in 2010-2011.

Flo Volunteer Fire Department meets the first Thursday of each month for their monthly business meeting at the Flo Community Center at 7:00 p.m.
