Photo by Melvin Laningham The JV Bison opened with a road game at Bremond. The Tigers took the win, 28- 24, but BHS players, coaches and fans held their heads high at the end of the contest because the Bison had played with heart and enthusiasm.

The JV coaches looked at new players and moved others to new positions.

Taylor McGill put the Bison on the scoreboard early when he scooped up a Bison fumble and ran it in from the 20. McGill was moved to running back this week and he pounded the ball up the middle in the first half. Cain Hayes, playing in his first game, shined in the second half. Hayes gained good yardage on sweeps around the end and got off a half-back pass under pressure that was complete to Dylan Laningham and good for 20 yards.

Coach Warren Ringland noted that defenders Nathan Jones, J.D. Baxter, and Dylan Laningham played good games.

Bremond scored the next two touchdowns, but the Bison defense denied them the PATs. BHS scored in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 6, but the Tigers dug in and held on for the win.

THIS WEEK the Freshmen and JV teams host Red Oak Life beginning at 6:00 on Thursday, September 2.
