Centerville Lady Tigers win consolation trophy

The Centerville Lady Tigers hosted 16 teams in their tournament and came away with the consolation trophy. On Thursday August 26th the Tigers defeated Wortham 25-8 and 25-9 in their game at 9:00am. In the second contest at 11:00am the Tigers defeated Coolidge 25-10 and 25-6. Their final game in the pool play at 1:00pm pitted the Tigers against Dime Box and the Tigers prevailed easily 25-11 and 25-6. The three wins put the Tigers in the championship bracket on Saturday August 28th.
In the first match on Saturday the Tigers faced North Zulch and won the first game easily 25-14. North Zulch rallied and won the second game 25-17 and the deciding game 25-19. The Tigers then defeated Grapeland 25-8 and 25-12 to advance to the consolation championship game against Iola. The Tigers won the first game easily 25-8 but had a harder time in the second game but came out on top 25-19 to win the consolation trophy.

On Friday August 27th the Tigers traveled to Grapeland and won three straight games 25-11, 25-15, and 25- 21.
Carlee McEachern had 9 digs, Madison Taylor led in block shots with 6, Jill Griffin had 13 kills, and Taylor Sullivan had 20 assists to lead the Tigers against Grapeland.
The Lady Tigers travel
to Bryan on August 31st and
are at home against Teague
on September 3rd. Their
first district game will be at
Trinity on September 7th.
