Where the Music Plays

David Parker David Parker In my latest journey to find live music, I found myself in Jewett Texas, at a little club called C&J’s Final Destination. Just a word of advice, if you’re looking for this club, located on hi-way 79, don’t blink while driving through town or you’ll miss it.

The band was local artists, PUSHWATER, a great bunch of guys and outstanding musicians. And let me tell you, they truly know how to put on a fantastic show… ,from Danial York playing a mean mandolin on Copperhead Road.., Jesse Duke singing Ice Ice Baby.., to Randy Stevens playing a guitar solo flat of his back on the dance floor…., these guys really know how to work the crowd and have a great time.

PUSHWATER consists of ; Jerry Duke on the bass, Jesse Duke on vocals and guitar, Danial York on guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and vocals, Randy Stevens on lead guitar, and John Sunkes on the drums. Individually, they are excellent musicians, together, they are a Texas Country force to be reckoned with. I can assure you, you will be hearing a lot from this band in the future….they will be playing Saturday, September 4th at the Lone Star Cantina in Fairfield, Texas.

It kicks off Friday, September 17 with a concert in the park. There will be live performances from GYPSYHEAD and PUSHWATER. And then on Saturday, following the days festivities, another concert, featuring, Corsicanna’s DAVID HARNESS, of the band, DEAD END ALLIE, and a return performance from GYPSYHEAD! So, let us all join together and support our local musicians …, where the music plays.
