Virginia Lee Schoenewolf Martin Funeral services for Virginia Lee Schoenewolf Martin, age 85 of Kingwood, Texas were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Doyle Theimer, Christ the King Church officiated the services. Burial was in the Buffalo City Cemetery. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Virginia Lee Schoenewolf Martin was born on March 30, 1925 in Comfort, to Adolph and Augusta Schoenewolf. Virginia lived in Buffalo most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buffalo for many years. Virginia and her late husband, Royce lived in Buffalo, Kerrville, and Port Neches, Texas during their retirement years. During her later years Virginia lived in Humble, Texas and Kingwood, Texas and was an active member of the Humble Area First Baptist Church. Virginia retired from the Texas Highway Department as a secretary in Buffalo, Texas. Virginia was known for her outstanding baking skills. Virginia’s late husband, Royce retired as the Buffalo Postmaster. Virginia graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas and was the Drum Major for their high school band. Virginia loved to dance, and she and Royce were known for their dancing skills to the tunes of the big band sounds. Virginia and Royce enjoyed traveling with friends, camping in their travel trailers and RV. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Augusta and Adolph Schoenewolf and husband, Royce Martin. Virginia passed away on August 15, 2010 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Virginia is survived by her son, Randall Martin and his wife, Melinda of Kingwood, Texas; granddaughter, Lorie Lewis and husband, Rusty of Nederland, Texas; grandson, Matthew Martin of Kerrville, Texas; 2 great grandsons, Alec Weston Lewis and Noah Martin Lewis of Nederland, Texas, and one great granddaughter, Grace Martin of Camarillo California. The pallbearers were Matthew Martin, Rusty Lewis, Gene Martin Woodell, John Woodell, Gary Davidson and Doug Freemen.
