A large crowd of the curious, the proud, wellwishers, alumni and Bison fans showed up at the new Buffalo High School campus on Friday evening for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the newest BISD campus. Superintendent Jackie Thomason spoke and School Board President Jim Scott had the honor of cutting the ribbon, backed by the Board and special guests Paul McCullough (the project's architect) and Rohn Boone (construction contractor) and the new school's principals, Robb Dean and Geoffrey Bowdoin.
A video presentation in the new 500-seat auditorium followed, showing the construction process and giving a virtual tour of the campus. Teachers were also in each classroom to welcome guests. The Bison Booster Club offered a hot dog and ice cream supper in the spacious new cafeteria, and "Meet the Bison" night followed in the new gym. At the encouragement of auctioneer Randy Shelton, generous Bison fans bid $4000+ for eight pies/cakes and two season passes to the school's games, supporting the Booster Club.
