Garage Sale - The Ladies Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church, Centerville, is sponsoring a garage sale, Friday, August 27th and Saturday, August 28th. Crites participated in Operation Akamai Builder at the Hawaii Army Museum in Waikiki during a three-week Reserve annual training mission. He removed concrete walls in preparation of a section of new artillery parapet walls of the museum during renovation and restoration efforts. More ... Air Force Airman Taylor L. Sartor graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. More ... Amanda Henson Harter is a new teacher at BHS, but certainly a familiar face in Buffalo. In fact, her family lives less than a mile from the high school where she is teaching, in the very house she lived in as a child and just across the pasture from her grandparents. Amanda is the daughter of Wesley and Rose Henson, and literally grew up in the halls and gym of BISD. More ... Buffalo High School's newest computer/technology teacher is Trey Thomason. If the name sounds familiar -- it is. Trey is the son of BISD Superintendent Jackie Thomason and BES counselor Gwena Thomason. The Thomason family was actually living here in Buffalo when Trey was born, but he never attended school here and he graduated from Wortham High School before his parents returned to BISD. More ... Jessica Beard is a hometown girl, the daughter of Sam Beard and Trudy DeBorde and a product of the Buffalo school system. She played volleyball and cheered in high school and graduated from BHS in 2005. After high school she attended Trinity Valley for two years and finished at Sam Houston State University in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, certified to teach K-6.
