George Raymond Chamberlain

Funeral services for George Raymond Chamberlain, age 93, of Katy, Texas and formerly Centerville, were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Ray Melton officiated and interment followed in the North Creek Cemetery in northeastern Leon County. Services were under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

George Raymond Chamberlain was born on July 15, 1917 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Floyd and Laura Chamberlain. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. Mr. Chamberlain retired from Shell Oil Company in Deer Park, Texas. After his retirement, Mr. Chamberlain and his wife, Eurcal, moved to the Ninevah Community of Leon County where they spent 27 years. He then moved to Houston in 2000 for 5 years, and later to a retirement home in Katy, Texas where he passed away on August 7, 2010. Mr. Chamberlain was a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed gardening and coming back to the Ninevah Community every chance that he got. He is preceded in death by his wife, Erucal, in 1996; sister, Beatrice Woods and brother, Sammy Chamberlain.

Survivors include, son, Rex Chamberlain & wife, Karen of Fulshear, Texas; daughter, Cindy Chamberlain of Jacksonville, Texas; adopted brother, Roland Chamberlain of Bullard, Texas; grandchildren, Tracy Chrisman & Brett Chamberlain and great grandchildren, Ty & Tobi Chrisman & Hadley Chamberlain.

Pallbearers will be Larry Dorman, Stephen Bailey, Jack Bailey, John Bailey, Brett Chamberlain & Todd Chrisman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Vannatta & Harold Ray Collins.
