Oakwood Dirty Riderz supply drive a success
      The Oakwood Dirty Riderz horse riding club presented OISD principal, Judy Thomason, with the bounty from its second annual school supply drive. Thomason expressed her gratitude on behalf of the students and teachers for the giant box of school supplies. She commented to the children involved in the project that they looked "just like angels" helping out.

Stolen travel trailer located by Freestone deputies
      Members of Freestone County Sheriff’s Office executed a Search Warrant issued by District Judge Pat Simmons at a rural residence at 500 FM-489, west of IH- 45 during night hours on 08- 11-10. Deputies were trying to locate a 26 foot Jay Flight Travel trailer. The trailer was legally owned by P&L Rentals, a local company.

Buffalo Police Report
      Sgt Ferrand to Commerce Street for disabled vehicle. Upon arrival, officer found a flat bed truck blocking the west bound lane at the intersection of Commerce and Buffalo Avenue. Driver advised he had run out of fuel and after adding fuel, vehicle would not start. Wrecker was called and vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Rose expert to speak in Leon County
      The Texas Agrilife Extension Service will host Rose Expert Dr. Bill Welch on September 10, 2010 as a speaker during our Master Gardener Training Series. Each year we open to the public a few of the classes to allow others in our community to experience what the master gardener training has to offer. Bill Welch received his B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University.

      08-04-10 Deputy Dwight Myers was dispatched to Merryweather Ln. in Jewett in reference to an unattended death. Deputy Jack Tomlinson contacted a complainant in reference to a civil dispute on FM 1618 near Buffalo. Deputy Jack Tomlinson was dispatched to the Leon ISD construction site in reference to a report of burglary of a building where tools were stolen.

      TPD Reed and Martin, Deputies Elom and Robertson and DPS Jones to altercation between two women, US-84 in Teague, one to Jail, Disorderly Conduct. Believe the problem was over a disagreement about a parking spot. Deputy Shaw to FM-489, someone believed to have attempted a break-in. More of same on East San Saba, WPD Keathley to same.
