Despite the heat, two-adays must go on. That is the summertime reality in Texas. With their second season of six-man football coming up in just a week's time, the Oakwood Panthers are hitting the field twice a day...and they are hitting it hard.
OHS has nine returning players this year. They also have six freshmen moving up and one transfer student. Although Drago Billups is transferring in, he is not new to Oakwood; he is just moving back.
All four of Oakwood's football coaching staff are back again this season. That includes Athletic Director Mike Heckathorn, Special Teams Coach Kyle Casey, Offensive Coordinator Coach Tommy Tritz, and Defensive Coordinator Coach Steve Davis.
Oakwood lost a lot of good players to graduation this past year. It will be up to this year's seniors to step into their shoes. Will they come into their own? Will they show the younger players how the Panther Pride comes together to win games? Will the freshmen bring some surprises to the game?

The Panthers are looking forward to answering those questions with their first scrimmage (away) against Bynum on August 14 at 10:00.
