Texas monthly oil and gas statistics

JUNE PERMITS TO DRILL

The Commission issued a total of 1,535 original drilling permits in June 2010 compared to 842 in June 2009. The June total included 1,326 permits to drill new oil and gas wells, 32 to re-enter existing well bores, and 177 for re-completions. Permits issued in June 2010 included 394 oil, 272 gas, 784 oil and gas, 55 injection, one service and 29 other permits. MAY CRUDE OIL PRODUCTION

Texas preliminary May 2010 crude oil production averaged 929,347 barrels daily, up from the 894,716 barrels daily average of May 2009.

The preliminary Texas crude oil production figure for May 2010 is 28,809,744 barrels, up from 27,736,202 barrels reported during May 2009. JUNE OIL AND GAS COMPLETIONS In June 2010, operators reported 505 oil, 353 gas, 19 injection and one other completion compared to 506 oil, 1,183 gas, 37 injection and six other completions during June 2009.

Total well completions for 2010 year to date are 5,311 down from 9,683 recorded during the same period in 2009.

Operators reported 582 holes plugged and two dry holes in June 2010 compared to 705 holes plugged and zero dry holes in June 2009. MAY NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION

Texas oil and gas wells produced 596,828,521 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas based upon preliminary production figures for May 2010, up from the May 2009 preliminary gas production total of 560,344,535 Mcf.

Texas production in May 2010 came from 145,960 oil and 94,961 gas wells.
