Coach Daryl Skelton has stepped up to take the reins of the Lady Bison volleyball program. Skelton, who is himself a graduate of Buffalo High (Class of ‘93) follows Lori Shaw as head coach after three years as an assistant in the BHS program.
Coach Skelton will be assisted by returning coach Kyle Gleghorn and three newcomers to the BISD staff: Jozette Jenkins, Krista Gleghorn and Julie Bowden.
Thirty-seven girls showed up on Monday morning for the first workout in the new BHS gymnasium. By the end of the week, they will be divided into three teams: Freshman, JV and Varsity. Coach Skelton is still hopeful a few more players come out. The girls were duly impressed with the new facility. “Is this really OUR gym?!?” one player commented incredulously.
Sophomore Raven Lott appears to be glad to be back on the hardwood. Van
