Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

It’s time for new leadership. I’m disappointed in Governor Rick Perry, in his honesty!! When he ran for governor the first time, he made a campaign promise on term limits; no more than two terms. It is bad enough he did not keep his promise; but what really upset me, was during the Republican Primary. Governor Rick Perry had a TV ad, with him saying that the State of Texas has a budget surplus under his leadership; in his campaign against U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Shortly, after Governor Rick Perry won the Republican Primary, it comes out that there is NO surplus, but a deficit, and a large one, now at 18 BILLION dollars...... Did Governor Rick Perry tell the TRUTH, or is that some of that “fuzzy” math?

It’s time for a new governor...I don’t care if you are a Republican; a Democrat; a Tea partier; a Libertarian; what ever party you belong to, a politician should be truthful and should not mislead the people in any form, way, or fashion.

I have heard many good things about Bill White when he was mayor of Houston, and being truthful and listening to his constituents is his policy......That’s why I’m voting for Bill White for governor of this Great State of Texas......because it’s time for new leadership, in Austin.

Sam Merrell
