Centerville man dies in pickup/18-wheeler collision

A retired Centerville rancher, Richard Dale Worley (63), lost his life Sunday in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 which occurred at 1:25 p.m. According to the investigating DPS trooper's report, Worley was eastbound, turning left onto County Road 204, when an eastbound 18-wheeler attempted to pass him. The truck and trailer rig struck Worley's 2007 Dodge pickup on the driver's side door, and both vehicles ended up in the north bar ditch.

Worley was transported to East Texas Medical in Tyler where he was pronounced dead at 3:33. The driver of the Freightliner, Francisco Sanchez, Jr. of Stephenville, was not injured.

Worley was originally from Brenham.
