CHAA comes to FBC of Jewett. L-R Donnie Barron and Bobby Brasher. Paul’s Shots
First Baptist Church of Jewett hosted Bobby Brasser of the Christian Hunters and Anglers Association (CHAA) on Tuesday, July 20th. CHAA is an organization formed in 1999 by Brasser to encourage fathers and suns to enjoy the outdoors by hunting, fishing and camping.
Brasser spoke at 34 sites in 2009 promoting this concept. CHAA publishes a hunting and fishing magazine which is free to the public. The organization sent 5,000 copies to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The group is made up of volunteers.
Pastor James Ingle welcomed Brasser and about 45 interested guests. Ingle said FBC is trying to reach men who enjoy the outdoors but aren’t affiliated with the church.
Following a delicious meal by CJ’s of Jewett, Brasser spoke of his desire to see fathers and sons experience the outdoors together. Several door prizes were awarded after Brasser’s presentation. Pastor Engle said their next meeting will be on August 17 and the meal will be a fish fry, compliments of local hunter and fisherman John Sitton.
