Linda “Granny” Beall

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Beal, age 67, will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 11:a.m. at Ricks- Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. James Engle and Bro. Todd Herod will officiate. Interment will be held on Thursday at 2:00p.m. at Steep Hollow Cemetery near Bryan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beall passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Buffalo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jewett and a life member of the Ladies Auxillary Post 3907 in Palestine. Mrs. Beall worked for St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan for over twenty years. She had a passion for collecting angels and was known for her fierce competitiveness at Canasta which were frequently on display at her home. Mrs. Beall touched the lives and stomachs of many with her love for cooking, canning, and baking. She was especially known for her cheesecakes. She will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness, and compassion to others. Mrs. Beall faced her illness with great courage and faith and wanted everyone to rejoice that she is now with her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by two daughters, Dinna Flynn & husband Ron of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Lynn Davis of Fairfield; one son, Charles Alexander "Jr." & wife Heather of Baytown; ten grandchildren, Kim Bain, Allen Flynn, Chris Flynn, Cody Flynn, Mark Speelman, Michel Speelman, Wayne Dicky, Aaron Gresham, Trey Alexander, and Morgan Alexander; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Bradley, & Tyler Bain, Alexis, Dixie, Dillon, & Nolan Speelman (and counting!!), and Tyler Gresham; her father, Albert Kovolski of Lundington, Michigan; two brothers, Albert Kawalski & wife Jan of Omaha, Nebraska and Michael Yanovic & wife Melody of Sturgis, Kentucky; three sisters, Alberta Alley & husband Richard of Galine, Michigan, Karen Kopp & husband Gary and Jeanette Kopp "Little Sis" all of Sullivan, Missouri; her special son-in-law who devoted much love and time to her, Ronald Gresham; numerous nieces and nephews, special friend, Gary Craig and many other special friends, too numerous to count. Mrs. Beall was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse "Sweet Thing" Beall; her mother, Lorraine Kopp; and son-in-law, Bill Davis.

The family would like to thank her care takers during her final hours, Bryzy Woodruff, Mechelle Jackson, Bobbi Casebolt, Cassie McBride, and Brittani Jackson.
