The Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 63, and the DAV Auxiliary, Unit 63, will hold a Fund Raiser on Saturday, July 3rd, to celebrate the 4th of July. The event will be held at the DAV Hall at 927 Gardner Drive in Palestine, and will be open from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. BBQ sandwich plates will be served at $7.00 per plate. Watermelon will be served. There will be a Silent Auction, and the results will be announced at 4 p.m. All funds raised will go to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 63 and will be used to help area veterans. The Leon County Domestic Violence Advocate Program is about to hold a new training session for those interested in becoming advocates for the program. Next session will be in July 6 to 9 pm on the 20th and the 22nd and all day on the 24th. Vacation Bible School - Kids entering Kindergarten through 6th grade get ready for a life -changing rockin’ rainforest expedition in the SonQuest Rainforest Vacation Bible School at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church on Fairfield St. behind Davis Feed and across the tracks on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 13-14-15, 2010 from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Meals on Wheels is sponsoring a National 42 Players Association Tournament on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Palestine Senior Activity Center 200 N.
