Margaret Bell “Margie” Meredith

Memorial funeral services for Margaret Bell “Margie” Meredith, age 70, of Houston and formerly of Centerville and the Rosenberg area, were held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Walters Funeral home Chapel in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Charlie Young officiated.

Margie Meredith was born December 31, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Rolland Vance and Rachel (Handley) Utley. She lived in the Rosenberg and Houston area for most of her life and worked as a waitress. She was a Baptist and moved to the Centerville area about fifteen years ago. Just recently, because of health issues, she had moved back to Houston to be near her son and daughter in-law.

In her later years, she became a care giver to elderly people. She was a compassionate and caring woman. She also had a great sense of humor. She was much loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Margie was preceded in death by her father and by her daughter, Connie Jean Meredith. Margie passed from this world on June 13, 2010 in Houston, Texas.

Her surviving family includes her mother, Rachel E. Utley; her son and daughterin law, Rick and Laura Utley of Houston; a sister and brother in-law, Arlene and Glynn Blackburn of Centerville; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Landry of Alvin; a niece, Julie Restivo and her children, J.J., Justin and Jenna (twins) and Jordan of Houston.
