String your pole, bait your hook, and dunk a worm

Contributed photo Leon County kids had some fun in the sun on June 15, 2010 at the Sportfishing Kids Kamp held by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. Larry Hysmith, State 4-H Natural Resources Specialist, came and helped teach the youth how to string their fishing poles, tie a hook on the fishing line, bait their hook, and how to fish. The youth had an hour and a half to do some of their own fishing at Fort Boggy State park with their brand new Shakespeare Spectrum fishing poles provided by the Extension Service. These kids were grateful that they received a free fishing pole sponsored by Kay Serafin and Jeff Miller. Thank you so much Fort Boggy State Park for allowing us to use your facility, and Jeff miller & Kay Serfain for sponsoring this camp, and Larry Hysmith for instructing the camp.
