Buffalo Chamber plans this year’s Stampede
      The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce held a special called meeting at the Buffalo Civic Center on June 10, 2010. Reitha Hullum, president of the Chamber explained the purpose of the meeting was to get better organized for the Stampede, the largest Chamber fundraising event of the year.

      NACOGDOCHES, Texas— Rachel Taylor, nursing major from Buffalo, has been named to the Dean’s List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the spring semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and maintain a grade point average of 3.5.

      In a very short regular business meeting, the City of Oakwood voted to continue its participation in the Brazos Valley Affordable Housing Corporation program (Brazos Valley Home Consortium). BVAHC Vice President Ben Fortner stopped by to go over the program and to answer any questions the City Council members might have had.

      Buffalo Elementary’s second, third and fourth graders were recognized in an awards ceremony at the BHS auditorium on Thursday, June 3rd. Assistant Principal Amanda Davis led the presentation of awards for attendance A-B and All-A Honor Roles, and citizenship.

Elementary students vie for Spelling Bee titles
      The students at Buffalo Elementary School worked for weeks in their classrooms to earn a spot in the schoolwide spelling bee. With Kay Young pronouncing the lists for each competitor, the top spellers in each grade faced off on Thursday, May 27. Tension ran high as the children faced the microphone with classmates and parents watching in the audience.

      Sgt Ferrand to Haggard for possible phone harassment. Upon arrival, officer made contact with subject regarding her soon to be exhusband calling her. Subject advised that he wanted to come and pickup the rest of his belongings but she didn’t want him there without an officer present.
