Leon County 4-H dominates State Round-Up!

Contributed photo What an awesome year Leon County 4-H had at State Round-Up. State 4-H Round- Up was held June 7-11, 2010 at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Leon County was represented in three categories which included Leaders 4 Life Skilla thon, Share the Fun-Poetry/ Prose, and Promote 4-H. Participants in the Leaders 4 Life Skill-a-thon were Reagan Robertson, Kelcey Cockrell, Jacob Rodell, Taylor McGill, Bruen Camp, and David Roach.

This team placed 1st and will advance to nationals in Denver Colorado! In the Share the Fun-Poetry/Prose category was 4-Her David Roach. Last, but not least, was Reagan Robertson and Kelcey Cockrell who competed in Promote 4-H and placed 2nd. During State Round-Up, Leon County was recognized on stage for their Canned Food Community Service project that was held in conjunction with State Fair 2009. Leon County was honored for being one of the most influential and involved Counties in the State in 2009. Leon County Leaders 4 Life team was also honored for being the first State winning team and was announced on stage by the Chancellor of Texas A&M, MR. Mike McKinney.
