The Annual Buffalo High sports banquet will be June 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS gym. High School athletes eat free -- all others $5.

BHS’ Academic Awards Banquet and Scholarship Presentation Ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. on June 2nd at the BHS gym and move to the auditorium for the presentations.

BHS’ 2010 Commencement Exercises will be Friday, June 4th at 8:00 at the old BHS gym. Project Graduation will follow with an all-night locking at the BJHS gym.

OHS’ Graduation is set for June 4th at 8:00 in the high school gymnasium. BHS’s Class of 2000’s tenyear reunion is slated for June 5, 2010, 5:00 p.m. at the Gilliam Ranch in Oakwood. For more information contact Julie Davis Hinojosa (903- 388-4948, or juliedavis08@ yahoo.com)

A Benefit BBQ for Diana Lancaster, beloved 3rd grade teacher at Oakwood Elementary, will be held in the Oakwood school cafeteria from 11:00AM-2:00PM on June 6, 2010. All donations will be greatly appreciated and will go to help with expenses due to cancer treatment.

Shiloh Community Association to elect new officers: Officers for the positions of President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer are to be elected at the June meeting (June 8th at 6:00 p.m.) Any person interested in volunteering for any of these positions is asked to attend the meeting. Qualifications to seek these position will be given at this time. The Community Center is located south of Mexia, off Highway 39 at the Shiloh Cemetery exit off LCR 433/439.

The Buffalo Public Library summer Reading Club programs start June 14. The Children’s theme is: “Catch the Reading Express.” The adult theme is: “Raising a Good Reader.” For adults, the theme is: “Take a Journey With Us.” Prize packets will be given out. The Brushy Cemetery Memorial will be held on Sunday June 27 at 11:00 a.m. with lunch at 12:00 and the business meeting at 1:00 p.m. Anyone with questions can contact Parthena Moore at 903-322-2022

Flo Volunteer Fire Department meets the first Thursday of each month for their monthly business meeting at the Flo Community Center at 7:00 p.m.
