OHS’ FeliciaWilliams leaps to earn three State track medals
      Oakwood High School Junior Felicia Williams was the only student at Oakwood this year to make it to the State Track Meet at Austin on May 14th. Imagine the pride of her friends, her family, her teammates, her school, her community and Leon County when she brought home three medals!

Leon County Scholar/ Athletes recognized at KBTX banquet
      Two local scholar athletes were among the thirtyfive honored at a banquet last Wednesday night. Kelsey Lagrone of Centerville and Meredith Shaw of Buffalo were two of the Classroom Champions recognized by KBTX and Blinn College during the fall.

Hilltop Lakes Golf News
      Ladies results for May 20th Once a month, lowest net for the field will become an ACES winner for the 18-Hole Ladies and the 9 Hole Ladies. A total of 21 players competed for the May title. Nancy Keown had a wonderful day on the course which resulted in the ACES win for the 18-Hole Ladies with a low net score of 67.

Power Puff football game proves very entertaining
      The regular UIL sports seasons may have wrapped up for the 2009-2010 school year, but some BHS student athletes still found an outlet for their competitive juices Thursday -- albeit not quite the norm. The sophomore class sponsored a "Powder Puff" football game as a fundraiser, and the event drew a good crowd that got a pretty good show for their $3 ticket.
