Bessie Jane Salter

Graveside funeral services for Bessie Jane Salter, age 94, of the Flo Community, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Salter Family Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County. Bro. James Gunnels officiated the service. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.

Bessie Jane Salter was born on February 14, 1916 in Kansas to William & Harriett (Eastman) Williams. She was a homemaker her whole life and loved taking care of her family. Mrs. Salter was a very simple woman and enjoyed flowers. She had lived in the Flo Community since the early 1990’s, coming from Houston, Texas. Mrs. Salter passed away on May 13, 2010 in Buffalo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Salter, Sr.; daughter, Doris Jane Salter; one brother; two sisters; grandson, Clyde Dear, Jr. and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Salt- er.

Surviving relatives include sons, Ralph Salter, Jr. of Rockdale, Texas and James Salter & wife, Mary of the Flo Community; daughter, Betty Dear & husband, Clyde of the Flo Community; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild and numerous step grandchildren & step great grandchildren.
