Buffalo Police report progress on several cases

The Buffalo Police Department reports that progress has been made on several recent cases. After receiving more information about the Brookshire Brothers burglary from other departments that have been hit more evidence was located on Friday April 30. A search of the area yielded some change and duct tape that was removed from the store. In a nearby creek Sgt. Ferrand and Reserve Officer Russell located an important piece of evidence. This evi- dence was taken to Lufkin for the Brookshire Brothers loss prevention department to retrieve evidence from. The attempt was unsuccessful, and all evidence is being sent to the DPS lab for processing.

The case of the Black Tahoe that was on the front page of the Buffalo Press has been solved. There was a witness and the witness has stepped forward and told who painted the vehicle. A warrant is being worked on at this time and arrest will be made in the next few weeks.

A pistol stolen from the Four Jacks Gun Store still has not been located, but the suspects have been identified as three juvenile males. One of the Juveniles was picked up on an order from Tarrant County, and was transported to Ennis, Texas and Tarrant County picked him up there. This case will be referred to Leon County Juvenile Probation.

The person who tagged Buffalo High School has been identified and interviewed. The juvenile was from Normangee, Texas and did confess to painting the school. This case is also being referred to LCJP.

The Buffalo Police Department answered over 150 calls last month inside the city limits and assisted other agencys in a number of calls.
