Straight from The Horse’s Mouth
      The poem is "Desiderata" translates from the latin to "Things to be desired." It is a poetic formula for happiness, a gentle urging to be at peace with God and with life - is known and loved the world over for its words of reassurance. It's message has comforted and inspired millions of people and is appropriate advice at the end of the school year for our graduating students.

Bigfoot in East Texas
      For years, people have claimed sightings of a large, human-like creature in the thick woods of East Texas. About 500 people recently gathered in Tyler for a Bigfoot Conference to share their personal confrontations with the creature. Speaker Daryl Colyer, who has had an encounter with the beast, said he heard the legends and stories from families when he was growing up.

Saluting Texas Peace Officers
      On May 13, during National Police Week, the names of more than 300 fallen law enforcement officers will be dedicated on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. The monument, formally dedicated in 1981, pays tribute to federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
