BHS represented at Regional Track Meet
BHS senior Kaila Grissett, anchoring the BHS 4x100 Relay Team, takes the baton and races for the home stretch at the regional track meet.
The BHS track team battled at Whitehouse on May 3rd and 4th at the Regional Track Championships.
Kelsey Canady competed in the 100M Dash prelims on Monday.
Kaila Grissett placed in the top eight on Monday to qualify for the finals in the 200M Dash. She placed 5th in the finals.
Two younger ladies on the team also finaled. Sophomore Samantha Atkinson placed 8th in the shot put finals and freshman Raven Lott took 7th in the Triple Jump. Kylan Ferguson qualified for Regionals in the mile but withdrew with an injury.
There was a snafu in a handoff during the 4x100M Relay, resulting in a lane violation and a disqualification for teammates (Canady, Lott, Brooke Trahan and Grissett). The 4x200M Relay had better luck. After qualifying in the pre-lims on Monday, the Lady Bison’s 800M Team (Tionna Adams, Kelsey Canady, Raven Lott and Kaila Grissett) took fourth in the finals on Tuesday.

In the men’s competition, BHS senior Michal Burnside- Jones attended as an alternate and got pulled up to compete in the prelims. From there he managed to make the top eight and go on to compete in the finals on Tuesday.
