Photo by Mac Shadix At approximately 12:00 noon on Friday, May 7, an eighteen-wheeler carrying light weight lubricant ca- reened out of control and created a traffic backup on the interstate that lasted more than eight hours. Although one lane was eventually opened, traffic was backed up for miles in the northbound lane of I-45.

DPS Trooper Derek Seymour said the truck driven by Craton Looney of Grand Prairie failed to maintain a single lane and entered the median. Looney overcorrected and the truck rolled across I-45 northbound. Looney was life flighted to Scott & White Hospital.
