Buffalo’s NJHS students attend leadership training camp

The National Junior Honor Society students at Buffalo Junior High attended a leadership training camp last week (May 5 - 7) at Forest Glen Learning Center in Huntsville. The students’ challenges included a low ropes course to learn team building, and a high ropes course for personal challenge.
To be eligible to participate, the NJHS students had to maintain a 90+ grade point and have completed community service requirements. Participants included: Tyler Adams, Erykah Anderson, Maranda Bailey, Haylee Brewer, Jacob DeBorde, Junior Francisco, Bethany Gaskins, Lauren Helmcamp, Kortni Hibbard, Kayla Hutchins, Macey Jonas, Logan Jones, Marissa Jones, Kendall Lee, Ashton Little, Damon Magouirk, Trent Martin, Jordan Millar, Taryn Morman, Preston Mosley, Ekta Patel, Jamie Phillips, Meghan Shaver, Emmalea Shaw, Layne Shelton, Karina Sotelo and Dylan St Pe’. Reid Courmier was also eligible to attend, but had a conflicting trip with the archery team.
The leadership training camp has become an annual event for Buffalo Junior High’s NJHS members. Sponsor Trena Bing and Coach Vic Wheeler accompanied the students as faculty sponsors.
