Glenn and I are grinning from ear to ear about last weekend's Buffalo Spring Fest. A fantastic time was had by all. The music was amazing and the chili delicious! Many thanks to the members of the Chamber of Commerce who were on hand, and many friends and family who made it all possible.
The live entertainment was kicked off Friday night with Greg Hall taking the stage with his eclectic mix of classic rock, country and some old stuff like "Choo Choo Cha Boogie" by the Andrews Sisters. We just love Greg. He helped coordinate the musicians for this event. Thank You Greg.
Next up was the much loved Nick Watson. His fullvoiced classic country music took many fans back in time when singers like Conway Twitty, Hank Williams and Merle Haggard topped the charts. Nick has always been a supporter of THM. Thank you, Nick for all of your help.
And ending the evening a local band called Gypsyhead played to an excited crowd. At the beginning of their set a group of screaming fans rushed the stage asking for autographs. Poor David Parker...he wasn't expecting the frenzy. Gypsyhead covers classic rock as well as 80's music and even Johnny Cash. Lead Singer David Parker shined as he made the song "Folsom Prison Blues" his own. Members of Gypsyhead also include Matt (Tornado) Torno, Terry (T-Bone) Folsom, Aaron (Toe Jam) Folsom, and the gum chewing drummer Jeff (J Man Sticks) Bryson. David Parker was instrumental in making the music happen at the Spring Fest. We could not have done it without you.

David Cooley is an out of town fan of THM. He drove from Jacksonville to check out the festival on Saturday, but absolutely had to get home to take care of some of his responsibilities. That evening he came ALL the way back just to hear the music. Speaking of singer Hollye Robinson he said "I was not expecting that much talent from this local girl, she not only sang, she hit every note with perfection and brought each song to life." And of the Maynard sisters, Kate and Abigale, he added "These girls should go far with their music. Both play the guitar and sing with energy and passion, I look forward to hearing more from them in the future." Buffalo does have some incredible talent.
Sunday's country and gospel music played from 1:00 -5:00 with Nick Watson and "The Country Connection", some angelic singing again by Hollye Robinson, and more tight harmony by the beautiful Maynard sisters. There was heart-felt family music from Jordan and Theresa Nix, and ending the day, Nick Watson was on again with his band "Saturday Night Special".
Whew, what a weekend! There is talk about having more music in the park during the summer and at the Stampede in September. We think its a GREAT idea.
