Charles Walter Cox

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Walter Cox, 74, will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11:00a.m. at Little Flock Baptist Church near Jewett. Interment will follow the services at Little Flock Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.

Visitation will be held on Monday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cox passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his residence near Marquez.

He was born in Marquez on October 2, 1935, to Walter Monroe and Thelma Rogers Cox. Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Navy from August 1957 until July 1961. He married Geraldine on February 9, 1963 and shared over fortyseven years together. Mr. Cox worked for Automatic Power Inc. as an Electronic Design Engineer for thirty seven years in Houston before retiring and returning to Marquez in 1998.

He was a Mason for over fifty years and a Past Master of Jewett Lodge #427 and a longtime member of Little Flock Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine “Geri” Young Cox of Marquez; three sons, Larry Walter Cox & wife Lorie of Pflugerville, Stephen Carl Cox & wife Erica of Sunray, and Robert James Cox & wife Patrice of Normangee; six grandchildren, Samuel Cox & Allison Cox both of Sunray, Justin Cox & Bryce Cox both of Pflugerville, and Cody Cox & Madilynn Cox both of Normangee; one sister, Nell Cox Linton of Marquez; one brother, J. W. Cox & wife Brenda of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Jewett Lodge #427, P.O. Box 340, Jewett, TX 75846.
