Serial rapist still at large

Since January 2009 this area of Texas has been terrorized by a rapist who preys on older women who live alone. The latest attack occurred in Moody in McLennan County the last week of February, 2010. Authorities have not been able to get a positive match through DNA samples but other evidence indicates that the assailant may be the same man who is often called “The twilight rapist”.

Leon County Investigator Victor Smith has been assigned as a member to the Governor’s Task Force for tracking and apprehending this predator. According to Deputy Smith the Task Force had a meeting about a month ago to review the Moody case and to bring the McLennan County authorities up to date on the ongoing investigation.

“The Task Force has helped set up lines of communication so the different groups involved can know what is going on. They have established guide lines for processing leads and handling people of interest in the case”, said Deputy Smith.
