BISD session approves new road

The BISD school Board met in special session on Monday evening, April 12, to address a brief agenda, with all members present except Willie Gilliam.

First, the Board heard a report on the high school from construction consultant Jim Hanks. "We're pretty much into the punchout phase of the project, checking things off on our lists, adding others," Hanks explained. Hanks answered specified questions posed by the Board members in regard to finishing details.

The Board next addressed a road needed from the new campus to Highway 164, and they voted to put that project out to bid.

Lane Gregson, IT professional with Ample, was present to advise the Board in regard to two proposals for technology (switches) at the new campus.

The Board went into executive session regarding a classroom teacher's contract, and after returning to open session they voted 4-2 to approve the contract of ag teacher Brad Gonce for the coming year.
