Bison DJ Jackson has been a consistent medalist in the JV 100M Hurdles. BHS athletes competed at the Franklin track meet week.

Girls Competition

The Lady Bison 4x200M Relay (Kelsey Canady, TiOnna Adams, Raven Lott and Laken McCabe) placed 3rd. The same foursome took 4th in the 4x100M Relay. Canady placed 3rd in the 100M Dash.

In field events, Samantha Atkinson was 2nd in the Shot Put. Canady took 2nd in the triple and 3rd in the long jump.

In Junior Varsity action, Kimberley Rendon won the 800M run and the 1600M race. Sprinter Hannah Wilson won the 100M dash, was 2nd at the 200 distance, and 2nd at 400M.

In JV field events, Wilson was 1st in the long jump and teammate Angeles Valles- Villa was 3rd. BHS took 1 and 2 in Shot Put, with Ana Lopez finishing 1st and Ella Corbin 2nd. Corbin was third in discus.

Men’s Competition

In men’s varsity action, Micah Burnside Jones took 4th in the Triple Jump. In the 100M Dash, Jorgen Herrera placed 5th and Burnside- Jones was 6th.

In J-V competition, D.J. Jackson again led his team with 1st in the 100M hurdles, 4th in the 300M Hurdles and 4th in High Jump. Kyle Richardson was 4th in the long jump and 5th in the 200M Dash. Tate Hartley took 6th in the Triple Jump and 5th in the 400M run.

The Bison’s JV 1600M Relay Team (Hartley, Marcus Mata, Richardson and Jesus Lopez) placed 4th. The 800M Relay (Bryce Strack, Richardson, Jackson and Jonathan Cates) took 5th and the 4x100M Relay (Strack, Richardson, Gabriel Aguilar and Lopez) finished 6th.

The High School competes at Teague on Friday, April 9.
