Buffalo and Centerville met Thursday night during County Show week. Centerville had won the first outing 7-5, and held a half-game lead over the Lady Bison. Thursday's contest looked to be a repeat as Centerville took the early lead, but Buffalo came from behind in the seventh inning to secure a 6-5 victory. The two Leon County teams are tied at 7-2 with five district games remaining. More ... VS Centerville The Bison travelled to Centerville on Saturday afternoon to face a Tiger team looking for revenge, after BHS won the teams' first meeting earlier in the season, 8-7. This time it would be the Tigers who came out on top, 8-1, as the Bison had trouble getting anything going offensively, and the Tiger bats were hot. More ... BHS athletes competed at the Franklin track meet week. Girls Competition The Lady Bison 4x200M Relay (Kelsey Canady, TiOnna Adams, Raven Lott and Laken McCabe) placed 3rd. The same foursome took 4th in the 4x100M Relay. Canady placed 3rd in the 100M Dash. More ... Coach Daryl Skelton reported on the junior high girls’ success at last week’s Franklin track meet. More ... The Oakwood Junior high boys track team traveled to Lovelady and brought home a bus load of Panther pride! More ... For the first time in ten years, Oakwood Little Dribblers has a team advancing to the National Tournament. The Junior Boys will be traveling to Levelland, TX to compete April 14- 18. They are very excited to have this opportunity. More ... The Centerville girl’s 4x100 Relay Team qualified for and participated in the Texas Relays Invitational track meet this past weekend in Austin. The Mile Relay team entered the Invitational with a time of 4:12.08. The qualifying team consisted of Kelsey Lagrone, Brittany Thomas, Maygn Harris and Callie Padgett. More ... The Lady Tigers defeated the Trinity Tigers 14-1 on March 30th. The Lady Tigers hosted the Buffalo Bison on April 1st and lost a close one 6-7 as the Bison rallied for three runs in the 6th and 7th innings. More ... Leon Lady Cougar Elissa Downey took second in the pale vault with a vault of 8 ft 6 inches. Paul’s Photo More ... Members of Buffalo’s Shorin Ryu Karate Dojo participated at a tournament in Tyler on March 20. Members of the host dojo are planning a trip to Okinawa, and the invitational tournament was a fund-raiser for that trip. More ... The Leon Lady Cougars traveled to Rosebud-Lott on March 30th and took it on the chin 10-1 to one of the district favorites. Lott scored in every inning and held the Cougars to a single run in the 6th inning. Senior Elissa Downey was 3-3 with two singles and a double and Taylor Thornton had a single. More ... |
