Doris Laverne Coldiron
Funeral services for Doris Laverne Coldiron age 80, of Buffalo, Texas were held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Larry Morris, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, officiated the services. Burial was in the Coldiron Family Cemetery in Flo, Texas.
Doris Laverne Coldiron was born on January 29, 1930 in Morris Co. Texas to Alex and Birdie D. (Black) Wacasey. She was a longtime resident of Buffalo, Texas, but went to East Mountain High School where she was salutatorian in her class. She was a homemaker, and was a very busy lady. She was a active member of the Baptist Church, working with G.A.’s, Bible School and Sunday School. She was an active member of the Republican Party. She volunteered at the Buffalo Hospital, and she was a fisherman. She worked cows on the farm especially when her husband was away from home working.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Coldiron; brother, Gene Wacasey; sisters, Billie VanMeter, and Josephine Pritchard. Mrs. Doris passed away April 1, 2010 in Bryan, Texas.
Survivors include her son, Michael Allen Coldiron and wife, Deanne Latrelle of Buffalo, Texas; daughters, Margaret Rose Lynch and husband, Dean of Buffalo, Texas and Gaila JoAnne Coldiron of Bullard, Texas; brothers, John Wacasey of Leveretts Chapel Community, Franklin Wacasey of Taylor, Michigan, Kenneth Wacasey of New Haven, Indiana, Floyd Wacasey of Lone Star, Texas, Sammy Wacasey of Arizona, Curtis Wacasey of Tyler, Texas, and Alex Thomas Wacasey of Carterville, Texas; sister, Shirley Hankins of the Leveretts Chapel Community; six grandchildren, Dee Ann Cary and husband, Dan, Marla Daniels and husband, Clinton, Jolena Coldiron, Michelle Lindsey and husband, Kyle, Bobbie Gale Coldiron, and Joel Clint Walker; two great grandchildren, Logan Daniels, and Nicholson Dean Cary.
A special thanks to the Rose Home and Hospice Brazos Valley for loving and caring for Mrs. Doris. She and her family want to extend our love and gratitude for treating her with dignity and peace!
Serving as pallbearers were Joel Clint Walker, Kevin Armstrong, Dan Cary, Kevin Wacasey, Kyle Lindsey, and Steven VanMeter.
