on Monday morning introduced Buffalo Elementary Pre-K and Kindergarteners to their western heritage. The annual event is a spring highlight of the students’ year, and included horseback rides provided by the Champion family (Cattle Country Equipment), western-themed games and skills, face painting and National Champion’s trick roping. Daniela Gonzalez and classmates got to try their hand at tossin’ horseshoes. Luis Ortiz works hard on a very necessary ranching skill -- driving a nail. Sam Houston State freshman National Champion came back to Buffalo Elementary school for Go Texan Day. Champion’s trick roping demonstration is always a highlight of the annual event.
