Track teams get busy

Buffalo High School athletes competed at the Centerville Chamber of Commerce Relays at CHS last Friday afternoon, against some very tough competition.
In Varsity competition,
Kaila Grissett took 6th in the triple jump with a 33’7” effort. Samantha Atkinson was 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 33’7”. TiOnna Adams was 4th in the 200M and 5th at 100M. The 4x100M Relay team, comprised of Kelsey Canady, Brooke Trahan, Raven Lott and Kaila Grissett, placed 6th. The same team also took 6th in the 4x200M race. JUNIOR VARSITY
In the boys Junior Varsity action, D.J. Jackson won the high jump, clearing 5’4”. Jackson also took 3rd in the 100M Hurdles and 3rd in the 300M Hurdles. Calvin Young was 4th in the 400M run. BHS’ 4x200M Relay team was 6th.

In the girls’ Junior Varsity 100M dash, Hannah Wilson was 5th and Laken McCabe 6th . Emily Grissett was 4th in the 200M Dash. In the 400M race, Wilson took 4th. Kimberly Rendon was 2nd at the 800M distrance. Grissett took 6th in the 100M Hurdles. The 4x400M relay team of Emily Grissett, Erin Trahan, McCabe and Wilson placed 2nd.
In field events, Wilson was 4th in the long jump, Mc- Cabe 5th and Grissett 6th. McCabe also took 6th in the Triple Jump.
The track team’s next challenge is March 31 at Franklin. On April 9, the teams compete at Teague. The High School District Meet will be held April 14 and April 15 in Groveton.
