Bright and early on Saturday morning when other youngsters were sleeping in or taking off to some awesome weekend activity, dozens of Leon County 4H students and their parents were hard at work preparing for the 2010 Leon County Youth Livestock Show.
Like most events, especially those that are well managed, folks attend and never realize the work that must go on behind the scenes. Of course work began months ago but these kids were there to take care of the last minute preparations.
Leon Kindergartener Olivia Hastings helped keep up with the list of “to dos” at the Livestock arena Saturday.
Macey Jonas, a Buffalo 7th grader helped her mom set up a canopy within the show barn. Macey will show a steer.
Savanna Pistone, 6th grade, and McKinzie Hamilton, 5th grade, both from Centerville hold up lattice to form a special awards area. Both girls will show steers.
