Paws and Pals
      Paws and Pals, the 4-H group for kids who love dogs, is sponsoring AKC Canine Good Citizen classes beginning Tuesday, April 6, 2010 - May 25, 2010. Classes will be held at the Harriman Park Pavilion in Buffalo starting at 6:00pm-7:00pm. All dogs must be at least 6 months of age, have current vaccinations and a stable temperament for working in a group environment.

      AUSTIN – Texans are known for their creative and masterful hand-quilted work. To showcase these talents, Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples is declaring “Texas Wildlife: Adventure Awaits” the theme of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s 2010 quilt block competition.

RRC production statistics and allowables for April 2010
      AUSTIN -- The Texas average rig count as of March 12 was 585, representing about 44 percent of all active land rigs in the United States. In the last 12 months, total Texas reported production was 344 million barrels of oil and 7.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Texas natural gas production represents approximately 29 percent of total U.S. natural gas demand.

     AUSTIN – (March 22, 2010) For the week ending March 20, feeder cattle prices at Texas auctions were steady to $6 higher per hundredweight. Strong demand for lighter weight cattle for grazing continues to support the market. Fed cattle were $3 higher for the week following a sharp increase in wholesale beef prices.
