Bison honored with All-District selections
District 21-AA Offensive MVP-- Buffalo’s Jordan Canady
The 2009-10 Buffalo Bison basketball team earned the respect of area coaches, evidenced by the selection of the All-District honorees.
This year's Offensive MVP for District 21-AA is BHS senior Jordan Canady, and the honor is well-deserved. Canady has played varsity ball for four years and rebounded from an knee injury during football last year to lead the Bison offense and challenge defenders throughout the district. This year the Bison’s top playmaker averaged 19.3 points per game, plus 3.4 assists and 4.8 rebounds. His ball-handling skills and leadership on the court were a huge contribution to the Bison’s successful season.
Two other seniors, A.B. Bell and Micah Burnside-Jones, were selected to the First Team All-District. Bell averaged 12.2 points per game, 3.1 assists and 3. rebounds, and Burnside-Jones contributed an average of 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Juniors Saxton Sims and Ryan Read both earned a spot on the Second Team All-District. Sims’ 8.2 rebounds per game led his team in that statistic, and Read’s 8.1 points per game included 35% of his three-point shots. Damian Rodriguez earned Honorable Mention.
